Exchanging a foreign driving licence for a Slovenian one
Exchange in three steps
First visit to the Administrative Unit (UE)
At the administrative unit you submit an application to exchange your driving licence, together with your foreign driving licence, a translation and a medical certificate. The administrative unit reviews your documents. If it finds that you need to take a practical test, it issues an official referral (decision) sending you to take the practical part of the driving test.
Driving school
With this referral you go to a driving school of your choice. The referral proves to the driving school and the test centre that you do not need to take the theory (CPP) and first aid exams, so they can register you directly for the driving test before the examination board.
Second visit to the UE
Once you have passed the test, you take the certificate back to the administrative unit.
